Immersion learning refers to any education approach that teaches by placing a student directly in an environment where they are able to use the language they are learning. We all learn fluency in our mother tongues by being immersed in them - as opposed to being introduced to them via rules. Learning by immersion is one of the most effective and natural ways of learning a new language as it relies on a natural ability that we have all demonstrated when learning our mother tongues.
